At Dataquest, we’re currently recruiting for an IT Engineer (1st/ 2nd Line) to join our IT team.

We are a leading IT, Print and Solutions company based in the heart of the business district in London,  a few minutes’ walk from Liverpool Street, Moorgate, Old Street and Shoreditch High Street stations. What Do I Need?

Our department is incredibly busy; we receive a high volume of tickets and queries from our clients and internal departments, so it’s important that you’re able to take ownership of queries or tickets you pick up (from logging to resolution). You’ll need to provide excellent customer service to our clients, whether that be in person, over the phone, or via email.  We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A strong knowledge of Microsoft-based operating systems with an emphasis on Windows 7 and 10, and MS Server 2012, and experience of troubleshooting MS Office
  • Networking experience (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi)
  • Knowledge of Active Directory
  • Good understanding of PC hardware and software set-up and configuration, and TCP/IP networking skills.

An MCP certification, or a desire to complete, is highly desirable for this role.

What Will I be Doing?

The role will be providing 1st and 2nd line IT technical support to our internal teams and our clients by assisting them with PC, server, networking and hardware problems via phone, email or onsite visits. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Resolving 1st and 2nd line technical support queries professionally and efficiently, providing excellent customer service throughout;
  • Travelling to customers sites both proactively and reactively to provide technical support;
  • Taking ownership of user problems; providing technical diagnosis and fixing any issues either remotely or on-site;
  • Supporting users with the use of their computer equipment by providing the necessary training and advice;
  • Working effectively and productively with 3rd line support engineers.
